HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — The CHP says that a man who jumped out of a vehicle on the 101 Freeway was struck by at least one other car and killed.
The incident occurred just after 4:20 p.m. on the southbound 101 at Vineland, said CHP Officer Tatiana Sauquillo.
It is unclear if the man was a driver or passenger. It is also not known what prompted him to exit the vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It sounds pretty heavenly: A 44-acre street level park “on top” of the 101 Hollywood Freeway. It’s an idea that’s been in the works since 2006 (though its roots trace back to nearly three decades ago), and, with the support of several politicians and organizations, is making progress on its timeline.
