“We’ll just be monitoring it (the demonstration),” said Officer Liliana Preciado of the LAPD‘s Media Relations Section.
Speakers at the demonstration will include Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Sherman Oaks, civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom and National Lawyers Guild L.A. Director Ameena Mirza Qazi. Performance artists Useful Idiots will also participate while dressed as previous presidents, organizers said.
Organizers believe Trump has been in blatant violation of the Constitution from the day he was sworn into the office of President, according to the group’s website at http://ift.tt/2qBTLHF.
“It is time that congressional representatives do their job and start the process to impeach this president. We believe president Trump has committed constitutional breaches, consistently lied, cheated, and enforces laws that primarily benefit him and his billionaire friends at the expense of the country.”
The Los Angeles Impeachment March is part of a series of similar events being held nationwide Sunday.
