Seeking LA Area Solar Homeowner for TV Show

The Japanese national broadcasting system is producing a TV documentary featuring two energy booms happening in the United States: shale gas in Northeastern states and clean energy in California.

Producers of the TV documentary are seeking a home owner in the LA area who has installed solar panels on their rooftop, and is willing to open up their home to a small documentary film crew to show their solar panels and talk about their motives and savings, as well as some of the other green features that they might have in their home (smart meter, etc.).

The filming will take place for one day in between July 16th – 31st, which can be flexible. The film crew is minimally intrusive  – a 3 or 4 person crew with very minimal camera and sound equipment.

Participating homeowners will be compensated financially.

NHK is BBC of Japan, and known for its highly educational contents, and the home owner can get to brag about their green home on TV!

If interested, please submit the following information:

1. Name

2. Contact number / email

3. Briefly tell us about your solar panels (their location, output wattage, monthly saving, etc). Pictures of the house will be also helpful.

4. Other green features the home owner has incorporated in their home – smart meter, electric car, etc.

5. Availability during July 16 -31st.

Submissions can be sent via email to Takahiko Katayama at Zazou Productions:
