The Department of Recreation and Parks took a $25 million cut to its budget in 2009-10. As a result, holiday closures of recreation centers, senior centers and child care centers will begin on Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 31, April 5, and May 31. Early Retirement is also affecting services, as the Department released employees in January; next release dates are in February, March and April, 2010.
